Minister of Education: $300 subsidy will be reduced to $200

By BBN Staff: Eligible standard six students enrolling in high schools around the country are usually assisted with $300 subsidy from the Ministry of Education.

Minister of Education, Patrick Faber informed that the subsidy will be reduced from $300 to $200 due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has caused so much damage to the Belizean economy.

Faber also informed that every child that qualified last year will receive it again this year since the subsidy is for 2 years.

Faber noted that 11,000 students will receive the assistance this year.

The Minister also informed that school transportation will continue.
