Director of Health Services says 19th case doesn’t mean second wave of COVID-19

Posted: Tuesday, June 9, 2020. 4:17 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero informed on Ask the Experts today that having the 19th confirmed case of COVID-19 does not mean that we are back to square 1 or that there is a second wave in the country yet.

Manzanero says that the patient is a young male who is asymptomatic. The patient was tested on Thursday, June 4, 2020 and the results returned on Friday, June 5, 2020 as positive.

The patient is one of ten people that arrived on May 23 that were being repatriated via cruise ship.

Manzanero said that the Ministry is still conducting tracing and tracking.
