Public and Bank holidays 2021 announced

By BBN Staff: Expect several long weekends next year, as the schedule of public and bank holidays for 2021 has been released.

New Year’s Day, January 1 is a Friday and National Heroes and Benefactors’ Day (Baron Bliss Day), March 9, is a Tuesday so the holiday will be on Monday, March 8, 2020.

Easter falls in the first week in April, from April 2 (Good Friday) to April 5 (Easter Monday).

Labour Day falls on a Saturday, and Commonwealth Day Monday is May 24, 2021.

Another weekend holiday is for St. George’s Caye Day, September 10 which falls on a Friday.

And, Independence Day- September 21st falls on a Tuesday.

Monday, October 11th is the holiday for Pan-American Day which is being given in leiu of Tuesday, October 12.

Garifuna Settlement Day, November 19 falls on a Friday for a vibrant re-enactment weekend.

The final extended holiday weekend will be Christmas Day, which falls on Saturday, December 25th, and Monday, December 27th, which will be celebrated as Boxing Day in lieu of Sunday, December 26th.
