Opposition leader questions GOB’s new $30 Million Treasury Note

Posted: Wednesday, June 10, 2020. 2:11 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Opposition Leader John Briceno has announced plans to “rescue our country and put it back on a path to growth” ahead of elections.

The PUP leader reiterated that he readily agreed to joining the united COVID-19 fight and willingly made available the best of their human resources, paying tribute for their contributions.

Briceno also announced that the party had questions about the floating of a US$30 million Treasury note, about which he was not consulted.

He says the party wants to know among other things how this impacts the national debt, whether it can be done without the approval of the National Assembly and what will the funds be used for.
