On June 4, 2020, Galen University and the Belize Breeding Sheep and Goat Production and Guidance System Enhancement Project of Taiwan Technical Mission signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Veterinarians and Veterinary and Animal Science Experts at the National Sheep & Goat Breeding Centre serve as Adjunct Instructors in Galen’s Veterinary Technician  (Animal Health) program.  They may also sit on an advisory committee providing direction and oversight for the program. The Sheep Project will contribute the remuneration paid to each of the Veterinarians and Veterinary and Animal Science Experts teaching within the Galen program towards a scholarship fund for the Animal Science students.

Signing on behalf of the Taiwan Technical Mission was Mr Ming-Cheng Tsai, Chief of Mission, and signing on behalf of Galen University was Dr Cynthia Eve Aird, Provost. Also present at the signing was Ms Sherry Gibbs, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Sciences and Technology, and several members of the Belize Breeding Sheep and Goat Project, including Mr Yeh Chia Kai and Mr Jing-You Lai, who are currently teaching in the Animal Health program.

Galen University is extremely grateful for the support of the Taiwan Technical Mission and its experts with the Belize Sheep and Goat Project of our Veterinary Technology program.  Their experts have brought a unique international perspective to our students.  We value this new relationship and look forward to future involvement.
