Inconveniences persist at Baking Pot Ferry

Posted: Friday, June 12, 2020. 9:10 am CST.

By BBN Staff: On May 20, BBN reported on the inconveniences reported by many workers heading to Spanish Lookout early in the mornings to reach work. The workers said that the Baking Pot Ferry had been unattended due to COVID-19 but since the re-opening of businesses, there is no ferry operator early in the mornings.

This morning, some concerned workers contacted BBN to share photos of the unattended ferry.

Some workers opt to travel through Blackman Eddy and spend more time and fuel to arrive at work.

While others, operate the ferry themselves to get to the other side of the river.

BBN has been informed that the ferry is operating during the hours of 9am to 4pm only.

The workers are asking for the ferry to begin operating earlier in the mornings so that they can get to work.
