By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health announced today that another case of COVID-19 has been confirmed, bringing Belize’s total number of confirmed cases to 21.
The office of the Director of Health Services (DHS) said that the case was detected from a batch of samples taken from those who arrived in Belize on Friday.
“The person is a male, asymptomatic who was in the Houston area and went into the mandatory quarantine upon arrival on Friday. The person is asymptomatic and will continue to remain in strict quarantine for the next 14 days when a new sample will be processed,” the DHS said.
The DHS added that the identification of the new case follows the established protocol of testing those upon arrival.
