By BBN Staff: The National AIDS Commission (NAC) says that as part of its ‘Continuity of HIV Services during COVID 19 Action Plan’ it continues to collaborate with various entities and individuals to obtain and distribute food packages to the most vulnerable populations, including persons living with HIV (PLHIV), who are desperately in need of food items in order to remain adherent to their medication.
The National AIDS Commission has received food packages from The Belize Taiwan Alumni Society (BTAS), Orson “OJ” Elrington, Freetown standard-bearer, Grace Food and most recently from Santiago Castillo Limited who donated a total of seventy (70) food packages toward this crucial effort.
“Packages go a long way to assist those most affected by the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. As such, the NAC, on behalf of the Chair, Mrs. Laura Tucker-Longsworth, would like to heartily thank Dutch Lady and Santiago Castillo Limited for their extremely generous and kind donation,” the NAC expressed.
Anyone willing to donate can contact the NAC via telephone number 223-7592 / 610-5051 or email at [email protected] to arrange pick up or delivery.
In the words of Executive Director, Enrique Romero, “only through working together will we be able to achieve an effective and equitable response to the current COVID-19 Pandemic.”
