By BBN Staff: The Belize Bureau of Standards informed that effective today, new fixed controlled prices will be introduced for the sale of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
A statement from the ministry says that the change now reflects the sale by wholesale volume and retail sale by volume in both urban and rural areas.
The retail price in urban areas went from $3.76 to $4.24. In rural areas, the price is now $4.34 per gallon.
The statement says that the increase is due to an increase in acquisition price for LPG.
“This is a result of continued upward pressure on crude oil and its derivatives,” the statement expressed.
