By BBN Staff: Police are seeking two people after a Belize City shop owner reported that he was paid with a series of counterfeit notes.
According to police, Alfonso Mario Ayuso, 59, owner of Aisha’s Supermarket and Deli located at #4 corner 1st and St. Peter’s Street, reported that around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday two people came in to buy.
They reportedly paid with twelve $100 bills with serial number DC255536, all of which were fake. Upon checking, Ayuso realized the money was phony and called the police.
Police are investigating and seeking the two suspects.
