COMPOL: Police investigating how 6 Guatemalans escaped quarantine in San Ignacio

By BBN Staff: Today, Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams confirmed that over the weekend, 6 Guatemalan nationals escaped the Victor Galvez stadium in San Ignacio where they were being quarantined.Williams said that he has tasked an investigation team to launch a criminal investigation into the matter.

Furthermore, the commissioner noted that upon inspection of the place, the police noted that padlocks were on a shutter and there was no breakage, therefore, concluding that keys were used to open the locks to facilitate the escape.

Williams said that if the investigation finds that anyone aided or facilitated the escape, those persons will be charged criminally.

The BDF is also conducting their own internal investigation since they man the quarantine centers.
