By BBN Staff: A young woman reported to police that she was robbed of almost $1,000 around 11:00 a.m. on Monday on Cemetery Road in Belize City.
The 20-year-old woman told police she had just left Wilmac’s Drug Store on Cemetery Road and was walking toward Amara Avenue when two men on separate bicycles approached her. One stopped in front of her blocking her way while the other trailed behind.
According to her report, the man in front raised his shirt to display a black handgun on his waist before demanding all her belongings. Fearing for her life, she complied and handed over her purse containing $300 and a backpack containing $600. Both men then rode up-stop down Cemetery Road and escaped. Police are investigating.
