Met Service: Windy day, rainy night ahead

The National Meteorological Service of Belize’s latest weather report, says that windy and hazy conditions prevail today, then a weak tropical wave will support a slight increase in moisture tonight.

The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny skies with a few cloudy spells and isolated showers or thunderstorms today, becoming cloudy at times tonight with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over the south and coast.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 87 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 93 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 81 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 74 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be blowing East at 10-20 knots, and the sea state will be moderate-rough.

A small craft caution in effect for gusty winds and rough seas.

“Reservoir level remains above the spillway at Chalillo, Mollejon, and Vaca facilities but are expected to recede during the next 24 hours,” the Met Service said.

High tide will come in at 10:52 a.m. and low tide will occur at 6:23 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:30 p.m. and the moon will rise today at 7:27 a.m.
