Belizean businessman, owner of Ramon & Sons, offers 10 scholarships to students

By BBN Staff: Belizean-American businessman Ramon Palma of San Ignacio, Cayo has announced that he is offering 10 scholarships to Belizean high school students.

Palma resides in Chicago where he owns and operates his successful family business Ramon and Sons Sewer and Water.

You may remember his name because in 2018, Palma was touched by the video of an avocado vendor and sent over $2000 to assist the vendor.

After that, on his trips to Belize, Palma would assist children and families in need.

Due to COVID-19 and the numerous strains on parents, Palma decided to assist by offering these scholarships that will include tuition, uniform and books.

“ I am very happy and pleased to do so. It can be a first-year student, second, third or fourth year student,” Palma said.

The deadline for applications is June 27, 2020.

Interested persons can email him at [email protected] and explain the need for the student and the school they will be attending and contact information for the school.

Palma says that the scholarships is for any student in Belize and he will consider assisting students at the primary school level too.
