By Aaron Humes: The Football Federation of Belize Congress has been postponed again, until August 22.
We are told, “The FFB executive is yet to meet to decide on some matters regarding the PLB [Premier League of Belize] election that took place last weekend. As soon as we receive an update for the PLB [we] will share that information with you.”
FFB executive member Marlon Kuylen later clarified reports that FIFA would be addressed directly by one candidate for the election, “FIFA will not entertain letters from an FFB affiliate or person (Dean) especially since the statutory & compliance audits have been completed for the 2018 financials in question. The 2019 statutory audit is complete and now awaiting the compliance audit. Also, FIFA’s regional office in Panama is in constant communication with us re projects & finances so they are well aware of our “deficit” which will be settled through austerity and other measures by end of this year. Secondly, instead of freezing our accounts, FIFA will be transferring Covid Relief funds within the next few days.”
