By BBN Staff: It is graduation season and one primary school in San Ignacio made history today when it graduated 3 Valedictorians.

Yes, the school named 3 students as Valedictorian 1, 2 and 3.

Kelly Marroquin is the mother of Valedictorian number 3 and she says that her son is the rightful valedictorian.

Marroquin told BBN that from Infant 1, her son was first place in class and was looking forward to his last year since the writing was on the wall for him to be the school’s 2020 valedictorian.

But, in 2019, the school welcomed 2 new transfer students who would then become Valedictorian 1 and 2.

Marroquin says that it seems unfair since the students did not complete their entire school years at the school.

“What a huge coincidence and to add insult to injury, that the 1st and 2nd ‘valedictorians’ just got transferred from another school for the final year and did only two terms. It is a glaring and unfortunate example of injustice and monetary influence. The despicable, lowlife, and shameful behind the scenes move from the school highlight the corruption embedded in our educational system. That being said I know for a fact that my son is the only one deserving of the Valedictorian award,” Marroquin said in a public social media post.

In addition, Marroquin says that the plaque given to her son describes him as Valedictorian 3.

“He has represented the school proudly at spelling bees, festival of arts and performing the national anthem with his recorder for school events. The school has paid him with a stab in the back,” Marroquin added.

Marroquin said that she will take the concern to the General Manager in an attempt to put a stop to this type of behavior. BBN has contacted the school for comment but no response has been forthcoming.
