Attorney General says land borders remain closed

By BBN Staff: Today on Ask the Experts, Attorney General, Micheal Peyrefitte explained the new laws that come into effect on July 1, 2020.

Peyrefitte informed that the land borders remain closed.

He also said that the Philip Goldson International Airport is scheduled to open on August 15, 2020 and by then, there may be new regulations to control the traffic entering the country.

The Attorney General said that the mandatory quarantine will be carried out to ensure that they are closely monitored.

If arrested when people are coming into Belize illegally, the accused will be tested and go into quarantine. Anyone who enters the country illegally is committing an offense and will be arrested and charged.
