Michel Chebat: “I hope your bags are packed!”

By Aaron Humes: Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Michel Chebat questioned Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte’s rosy picture of the last three months in relation to the handling of COVID-19.

He pointed out that Belize’s economic problems existed even before the appearance of the pandemic – Belize had recorded three straight quarters of contraction, typically considered to be a recession.

And he added that the Government does not wish to be held accountable for its spending, otherwise why not detail exactly what the money will be used for in the CDB loan motion before the Senate.

He concluded, “November can’t come fast enough, my brother…I hope your bags are packed!”
