Apparent murder reported in Burrell Boom

By Aaron Humes: Police are said to have detained one person after a domestic dispute this morning led to a fatal shooting.

According to our sources, the deceased, identified as Roy Gabriel, was allegedly attacking his common-law wife with a machete around 2:30 a.m. this morning.

We are told that his brother-in-law intervened and shot him, causing his death. The brother-in-law has been detained by police.

Meanwhile Gabriel was transported to hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.

Police investigations continue and we will have more on this developing story later.
