Ministry of Health; 100 days since 1st case of COVID-19 and no community spread

Posted: Thursday, July 2, 2020. 8:49 am CST.

By BBN Staff: On July 1, 2020, Belize reached 100 days since the first case of COVID-19 was registered in the country.

At this time, the country is monitoring 8 active cases of COVID-19 and has registered 28 confirmed case of the virus.

The Ministry of Health says that we haven’t had community transmission documented.

“We therefore acknowledge that any success in the numbers is due to the community and government’s response,” the ministry says.

The ministry encourages everyone to continue to be safe and exercise all prevention measures for our common good.
