Barbados introduces 12-month welcome stamp to attract foreigners

Posted: Friday, July 3, 2020. 10:37 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The government of Barbados is in the process of introducing its 12-month welcome stamp to allow all visitors to work remotely from Barbados for a year at a time.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley informed that the stamp concept would allow persons to work digitally from Barbados.

The stamp concept is being introduced due to the challenges being faced by people planning to travel for short term purposes.

“You don’t need to work in Europe, or the US or Latin America if you can come here and work for a couple months at a time; go back and come back. But in order for those things to truly resonate, what does it mean?   It means that what we offer has to be world-class and what we continue to offer is world-class,” Mottley said.

Mottley said that the government is committed on working with visitors and making the nation more hospitable as ever for everyone.
