By BBN Staff: Two police officers attached to the Belmopan police station have been charged for gun license fraud.
Firearms clerk, Corporal Donald Pinelo and Corporal Oscar Itch were charged in connection with gun license fraud.
Pinelo was arraigned for multiple counts of forgery and Iche was charged for 10 counts of forgery.
Superintendent Hilberto Romero of the National Crimes Investigation Branch told the media that after the investigation was conducted, the officers were charged for various counts of forgery of official documents.
Both officers work at the firearms clerk section in Belmopan.
The Belize Police Department has since recovered 34 firearms from persons around the country with relation to the investigation.
