By Aaron Humes: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) today announced plans to resume competition in all disciplines except the Premier League of Belize (PLB), which is self-governing.
Amateur district competitions will restart on the weekend of August 15th; two weeks later on August 29th, youth competitions return. On September 12, the National Amateur Women’s League (NAWL) resumes, and on October 3, beach soccer returns.
The Federation has developed a handbook of protocols for football competitions which it will share with stakeholders and advises all Belizeans and football fans to continue practicing safety and good health.
The PLB will license clubs beginning on July 15 and register players beginning on August 1 while all players in the youth, women’s and men’s amateur disciplines will also register on August 1 and beach soccer registers on September 1.
The Premier League and Federation are scheduled to hold congressional elections in August.
