Ambassadors to discuss re-opening of Caribbean At Zoom Town Hall

Posted: Tuesday, July 7, 2020. 9:43 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: The ambassadors of multiple Caribbean countries including Belize have been invited to discuss how their states are re-opening in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

According to South Florida Caribbean News, the Zoom conference is being held by the Authentic Caribbean Foundation (ACF) as Part 2 of its Caribbean COVID-19 Update discussion forum and also includes other community leaders.

The Zoom Town Hall will take place today Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at 4 p.m. Eastern time and will be streamed live on various platforms including the Authentic Caribe Facebook page as well as its Instagram page, Authentic Foundation.

The discussion will focus on what re-opening will mean to Caribbean states against the background of the Covid-19 Pandemic as they seek to balance lives and livelihoods.

The panel will also explore the impact on the Diaspora. Foremost on the mind of the Diaspora interest is the level of engagement and action needed to provide support and resources where needed and how to mobilize these resources.

Additionally, the panel will also examine issues around youth development, food security and the trade of Caribbean goods in the state of Massachusetts and across the wider United States.

Belize will be represented by Laura Frampton, Deputy Chief of Mission on behalf of Ambassador Daniel Gutierrez.
