Flood levels continue to fall

By BBN Staff: The National Hydrological Service of Belize informed today that flood levels are falling.

The weather continues to be partly cloudy with some isolated showers.

The river conditions are as follows:

On the Blue Creek sub-catchment of the Rio Hondo at Blue Creek and downstream at Santa Cruz, San Antonio, San Roman, and Douglas levels continue to fall.

The New River at Tower Hill and Caledonia levels are above normal and falling.

On the Macal River at San Ignacio, levels are below the low-level bridge.

The Mopan River at Benque Viejo Town is normal and steady.

On the Belize River levels at Banana Bank and Double Run are normal and falling.

The Crooked Tree lagoon remains below the spillway and continues to fall steadily.

River levels on the Sibun river near Freetown Sibun are normal and steady.

Levels are normal and steady on the Southern Lagoon near Gales Point Village.

The Sittee River at Kendal Bridge is above normal and falling.

The Swasey and Bladen branch of the Monkey River is above normal and falling. Levels are above normal and falling on the Rio Grande at San Pedro Columbia and Big Falls.

The Temash River near Crique Sarco is above normal and falling.
