By BBN Staff: BBN has confirmed that Rayford Anderson, 42, of San Antonio village was found dead inside a jail cell in the Corozal Police Station on Thursday night.

Anderson, also known as “Culie”, was reportedly detained for a domestic-related incident. Based on accounts given to BBN from a source who knew him, Anderson was well-known in his community as a semi-pro football player and member of the Gilhary Seven Band.

Based on reports from police, his death was an apparent suicide, however, BBN has received multiple reports from separate sources questioning the circumstances of his death. A source who knew Anderson said the last time he was seen he was in good spirits and never showed any sign of depression.

The police department is yet to issue any official information on Anderson’s death.
