By BBN Staff: As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage the United States, various countries have closed their borders to US tourists. Today CNN published an article listing the few countries still welcoming US tourists and Belize was listed among them.
“Once one of the world’s most powerful travel documents, the might of the US passport has shriveled under the cloud of coronavirus, with doors slammed shut across the planet to American travelers,” CNN said.
The article showed two classifications of countries receiving US tourists “open” and “open with restrictions,” listing Belize on the latter along with Antigua and Barabuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cambodia, Croatia, Ecuador, Egypt, French Polynesia, Jamaica Puerto Rico, Rwanda, St. Barts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Tanzania, Turks and Caicos Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
For Belize, the restrictions listed is that tourists have to show proof that they have not exhibited any COVID-19 symptoms for the past 72 hours.
Countries that are open to the US include Albania, Dominican Republic, Kosovo, Maldives, Mexico, North Macedonia, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey.
The US now has over 3 million cases of COVID-19, with over 138,000 deaths.
