By BBN Staff: The Department of the Environment issued a notice today informing all importers, customs brokers, and members of the public that the Environmental Protection (Pollution from Plastics) Regulations, 2020, came into force on January 15th, 2020.
This legislation regulates the importation, manufacture, sale and possession of Restricted and Prohibited Products listed in the Schedules of the Regulations.
Kindly be advised that there has been no adjustment to the date prohibiting the importation of products listed in Schedule II of the Regulations, which is April 15, 2020, and is now passed.
Therefore, the importation of prohibited products is no longer permitted.
