The latest weather report from the National Meteorological Service of Belize says that a weak tropical wave is approaching the country whichwill support an increase in moisture.
The 24-hour forecast calls for cloudy at times with a few showers and thunderstorms mainly over the south this morning, spreading to most
places by afternoon. Then, activity will become isolated with a few more affecting the south tonight.
Today’s temperature highs will range from 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 90 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 73 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.
Winds will be gusty, blowing East at 10-20 knots, and the sea statewill be choppy.
“A flood alert is in effect for residents near low-lying and flood prone areas, especially near rivers and streams, in the south. A small craft caution goes into effect this afternoon for occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas, especially near heavy showers and thunderstorms,” the Met Service said.
Low tide will begin at 12:06 p.m. and high tide will come in at 5:43 p.m.
The sun will set at 6:31 p.m. and the moon will rise tomorrow at 5:26 a.m.
