By BBN Staff: A man from the repatriate flight that came to Belize on Friday has tested positive for COVID-19; however, authorities say that the result is not a cause for public alarm.
Director of Health Services, Dr.Marvin Manzanero, said that as a part of the repatriation process, the man was already bound for quarantine and had his contact limited upon arrival. Manzanero notes that the
patient is asymptomatic and that the situation has been contained, leaving no cause for the public to worry.
However, the ministry is concerned about a 50-year-old man that was seen at the San Ignacio Hospital yesterday, who has since tested positive and has the ministry on high alert.
Currently, Belize has 16 active cases of COVID-19, 11 of which are from the Orange Walk district.
