Police officer charged for rape

By BBN Staff: A police officer was arrested and charged for the crime of rape.

A minor reported to police that on July 6 between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. she was detained by 2 police officers for traffic violations.

One of the two police officers commandeered the vehicle she was caught driving and took her in front of the police station.

After being taken in front of the police station, the officer reportedly took her into a feeder road off the Savannah road approximately 1 ½ miles from entrance of Independence village.

The minor said that there, the officer sexually assaulted her without her consent.

On July 16, Nelson Ramos, an officer of Independence Village was charged for the crime of rape and sexual assault.
