By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Education informed that it is aware of parents on social media saying that they will home school their children.

The Ministry said that there is a  procedure that parents must follow to homeschool your children.

“We want the general public to know that once homeschooling is approved, the ministry of education will visit the home and they will assess what is being done if the parent is following the curriculum, if they are sufficient opportunities for the child to be engage. There is a mandatory school age and the mandatory school age is 4-14 years old and if those children are not in school or their parents have not been given permission to homeschool their children, then those children will be considered out of school,” stated Dr. Carol Babb, Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education.

Babb reminded that all children must get an education since it is their right.
