Constable shot in Cayo stable in hospital, gets visit from Commissioner of Police

By Aaron Humes: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams personally confirmed that officer Danny Jimenez is stable in the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan after being shot late on Saturday night.

Jimenez was one of five people injured, two fatally, in an incident in San Ignacio Town.

The Commissioner posted on social media earlier, “Visiting PC Danny Jimenez at the WRH. Contrary to reports Jimenez is alive and in good spirit…Kindly keep him in your prayers.”

According to our sources, Jimenez was shot in the mouth and the bullet landed behind the neck, for which he needed surgery.

Police continue their investigations.
