By BBN Staff: Today, the Ministry of Health confirmed a new case of COVID-19.
The patient is a female who came in via the repatriation process through the Northern Border station and is under quarantine in the Orange Walk district.
The female is asymptomatic and is not requiring treatment at the moment.
The Ministry says that there is also another recovered case, a female patient who will now be leaving the quarantine facility.
“While we acknowledge the concern and even disagreement in some sectors with the actual repatriation process, we ask that we please be mindful of the actual situations that returning Belizeans are currently faced with. This needs to be stressed as some of those returning are from medical care or interventions abroad so they are already under elements of stress that we must be able to respect,” a statement from the Director of Health services said.
All 18 active cases remain under quarantine.
The country has now registered 43 cases of COVID-19
