BREAKING: One new case of COVID-19 identified in Orange Walk

By Aaron Humes: A fifth member of an Orange Walk family linked to illegal border crossings has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 48 countrywide and 17 for the district.

The family in question had gone over the border in June for a family-related emergency, but the fifth member lived in Mexico and was regularly visiting the family in the weeks after their return to Belize where they were isolated.

There are no reports of positive results for other family members, close contacts and other members of the community in which they lived.

A further 58 samples were processed today.

A 26th case is classified as recovered, leaving the number of active cases at 20, a majority in Orange Walk District.
