By BBN Staff: The 100th Annual General Meeting of the Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry was held on July 30, 2020 at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza in Belize City.
Outgoing President Nikita Usher gave an overview of his team’s accomplishments during his term.
An election for new councilors was done digitally through an innovative platform developed by IdeaLab Studios Digital Marketing for the BCCI, which produced the results in real time.
The members of the newly elected Executive Council of the BCCI for the term 2020-2022 are as follows:
Marissa Longsworth – President
Nikita Usher – Immediate Past President
Allen Reimer – V.P. Industry
Marcello Blake- V.P. Commerce
Katherine Meighan – V.P. Services
Giacomo Sanchez- Treasurer
Ashanti Arthurs-Martin- Secretary.
Councillors:
William Neal, William Usher, Raymond Barkman, Jody Williams and Carlo Habet.
The highlight of the evening was the keynote address by the guest speaker, Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley who spoke on “The Barbados Revitalization: Keeping a Business Approach to the Barbados Recovery.” PM Mottley underscored that preparation was the key to surviving the ultimate test for a small Caribbean Nation.
As one of his last acts as President, Usher launched the Cayo Chapter of the Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry which will be led by Debra Adamson of AdamsCon I.T & Security Consulting Services Ltd.
