Dr. Marvin Manzanero; consider that the virus is circulating way before August 15

Posted: Tuesday, August 4, 2020. 11:40 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Today, Dr. Marvin Manzanero urged the public to consider that the COVID-19 virus may have been or is circulating way before August 15, when the airport opens.

Manzanero said that there could be more potential cases coming up.

Dr. Russel Manzanero also stressed the importance of everyone following the protocols implemented by wearing their masks, adhering to social distancing and if anyone is sick to stay at home and avoid moving around.

Dr. Russel shared some information about a patient in Corozal who was on oxygen therapy and had pneumonia.

The patient is being treated and in a stable condition.

Since her admission on July 27, she had a fever but it has been residing.

Since then, the contact tracing was ongoing.

The Ministry says that up to now, they haven’t been able to establish any contact with an infected person or travel.

Of interest, is that the patient visited San Pedro for a court hearing in July.

The Ministry says that it has engaged in an in-depth investigation to find out how and when the patient got infected.
