Posted: Tuesday, August 4, 2020. 11:11 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Today, the Ministry of Health informed that 130 samples will be processed today.

Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero said that not all the samples are from contact tracing in Orange Walk.

The breakdown of the samples to be processed include 30 from Orange Walk, 50 from San Pedro, and 40 from Corozal among others.

The results may be in by tonight or tomorrow morning.

Manzanero said that the patient in Orange Walk is a farmer who was admitted on July 30 in the hospital.

The person was taken care of by his relatives and he denied any travel and having any contact with any patient that was infected.

But, Manzanero said that the wife later revealed that the farmer had been purchasing contraband goods from a neighbor.

The farmer and his family were vendors at the market thus the closure of the market.

On July 21, the patient had attended a meeting at a school and they may be a part of the contact tracing.

The contact tracing for this patient is still ongoing.
