By Aaron Humes: Belize Electricity Limited offered a brief statement this evening following up on an internal communication which identifies one employee believed to be showing potential signs of COVID-19.

The company statement says, “Belize Electricity Limited joins the community in all efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to protect our customers, employees and their families.

Therefore, we take all necessary precaution in a situation where one of our own may have been exposed.

Let us all continue our individual and collective efforts to take the necessary safety and health precautions for each other’s wellbeing.”

Not explained for the time being is the status of the employee, in which office they work and whether anyone has been sent home to self-isolate or similar precautions.
