By Aaron Humes: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams has returned to the “Contraband Corridor” in the northern districts of Belize to support those doing the thankless task of interdicting so-called border jumpers.
The Commissioner handed over to head of patrol Corporal Ashton Flowers, Mobile Interdiction Team, a set of face shields, gloves and face-masks for use by members.
Corporal Flowers also received a tablet for communication with the command center concerning intelligence on contraband movements.
Similar donations will be made at patrol points along the corridor.
We’ll have Corporal Flowers’ assessment of the situation on the ground coming up.
