By Aaron Humes: As of Friday, Belize is monitoring 112 active cases of COVID-19 out of a total of 146.
32 cases are considered recovered and 2 are dead.
Of the active cases there are slightly more males (60) infected than females (52).
One case is in the Stann Creek District, linked to a cluster in Santa Martha, Orange Walk District; one саѕе comes from Сауо whісh іѕ а rераtrіаtеd саѕе; there are 3 саѕеѕ іn Соrоzаl which іѕ оnе ѕіnglе сluѕtеr rеlаtеd tо оnе оf thе саѕеѕ іn Ѕаn Реdrо, and there are 10 саѕеѕ іn Ѕhіруаrd that іѕ rеlаtеd tо а сluѕtеr іdеntіfіеd еаrlіеr іn thе wееk.
According to a statement from The Ministry of Health, “the majority of the remaining cases are for now related to the two clusters in San Pedro”.
Eleven cases are under investigation.
Authorities have said they are focusing on preventing community spread in Belize City, which had 100 potential cases to be screened on Friday.
