Villagers from San Marcos Village up in arms about survey in reserve

By BBN Staff: Today, some villagers from San Marcos Village in Southern Belize arrived with machetes to clean and squat on land in the Machaca Forest Reserve.

According to our colleagues at PGTV, the villagers claim that if the government continues to allow well-connected political affiliates to survey land in the reserve, then they too will get land in the reserve.

The Machaca Forest Reserve is located in the Toledo District. This is a developing story.
