Police find body of missing woman in shallow grave

Posted: Sunday, August 9, 2020. 9:37 am CST.

By BBN Staff: A day after she was reported missing, police found the body of Julia Millian, 39, in a shallow grave in the Stann Creek district.

Julia Millian, a Guatemalan national and resident of Santa Cruz Village, Stann Creek District, had last been seen on July 30. Concerned for her safety, her sister Irma Millian, 34, reported her missing to police on Friday, August 7.

Police investigations lead to the last person she was seen with, a 55-year-old security officer, who was detained for questioning. On Saturday August 8, that man took police to a feeder road on 16 miles Stann Creek Valley road, which led to a feeder road leading to a citrus and pineapple farm about a mile from the highway. There they dug up the shallow grave and found the body which was then identified by Milian’s brother.

Charges are still pending in the matter.
