All-staff memo confirms KHMH staff has COVID-19

By Aaron Humes: A memo to staff of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) has confirmed that an unnamed staff member has caught COVID-19.

Hospital CEO Michelle Hoare writes that the person was exposed outside the facility and that the hospital has initiated contact tracing in the facility.

Those staff exhibiting respiratory symptoms are asked to contact the hospital’s epidemiologist Dr Selma Bermudez for further assistance and guidance.

Hospital staff are told that they must comply with the measures on wearing of masks, hand washing, sanitizing and social distancing.  Staff are discouraged from leaving their assigned units except for work related duties.

The hospital has not issued any public comment.
