Employers discouraged from sending home employees on quarantine

By Aaron Humes: Dr. Marvin Manzanero has told employers not to arbitrarily send home workers, even those believed to have contacts with potential cases as they do not have the capacity to test routinely and simply will not sign certificates for sick leave for this purpose.

A PCR test is not required to show up to work and quarantine rules do apply – tests are typically done 2 weeks after quarantine starts.

Rapid tests are not yet approved for use in the general population and PCR remains the gold standard of testing worldwide.
