By BBN Staff: The Office of the Director of Health Services has issued a COVID-19 update informing that last night, there were 8 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Stann Creek.

Two patients were detected in Dangriga who are related to a previously identified case.

Six of the patients who tested positive for COVID-19 are from Independence village in South Stann Creek. Of those six patients, one is related to San Pedro and the other 5 are linked to a tug boat that was engaged in the movement of cargo between Belize and Honduras via the sea.

The Director of Health Services warns that no single community can let down their guard on the premise that they have no identified case.
