ASK THE EXPERTS PRIMETIME: A.G. to describe tightened COVID-19 regulations

By Aaron Humes: Attorney General and Minister of National Security Michael Peyrefitte opened tonight’s special edition by noting that with increased cases and a third death, instead of further loosening of restrictions, the Government has been forced into tightening regulations to be described.

The new regulations take effect in a few hours at midnight and affect the entire country with the exception of those villages in Orange Walk District under lockdown and Ambergris Caye until September 3rd.

Peyrefitte added that as much as he hates being the “Grim Reaper”, those who brought this situation on us are responsible and must be dealt with more harshly.

Host Dorian Pakeman added that while Belize has “the best people in the world,” some are standing in the way of the legimitate process of interaction. He asked that listeners and questioners be respectful.
