Commissioner of Police: ” I have had enough talking to big people over and over”

Posted: Saturday, August 15, 2020. 8:36 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Belizean law enforcement officers are tasked with ensuring that Belizeans follow the proper protocols like wearing masks and practice social distancing as the country battles the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams said last night in a statement that he has had ‘enough of talking to big people over and over.”

“Some people are so busy breaking the law, drinking in public in large gatherings, playing loud music and packed in a small building drinking and dancing. They all know what they were doing was wrong but yet they expected me to speak to them nicely. Honestly, I have had enough of talking to big people over and over,” Williams said.

Williams said that there are some people that just don’t care and are busy endangering their lives and the lives of others. As such, authorities will be arresting anyone who breaks the protocols that have been established by The Ministry of Health.

As of this morning, health officials are monitoring 350 active cases of Covid-19.
