Bullet Tree man busted with unlicensed gun

By BBN Staff: A man from the Bullet Tree Village, Cayo is facing charges for keeping an unlicensed firearm.

San Ignacio Police say they spotted the 24-year-old, holding a suspicious item while conducting mobile patrols on the Bullet Tree road around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Reports are that the officers ordered the man to drop the item but he refused, prompting them to fire a warning shot. He dropped it and upon approach the officers discovered it was a .22 revolver.

He has been detained, pending formal charges.
