CNBC recommends moving to Belize for Americans wanting to leave the US for good

By BBN Staff: CNBC has listed Belize among its top four picks for affordable countries Americans looking to leave the United States behind can come to live.

In an article published today, titled “Thinking about leaving the U.S. for good? Here are some easy (and affordable) options,” CNBC notes that a growing number of Americans are seeking other countries to move to.

Belize placed second on the list, behind Costa Rica and ahead of Portugal and Uruguay respectively.

“Ambergris Caye, Belize’s largest island, known as an “expat haven” is also affordable. According to International Living, a couple can live well there for about a monthly budget of $2,875,” CNBC said.

The article also gave guidance on visa requirements and residency applications, noting that the process can take years to complete.

CNBC also stated that International Living, a website about living and retiring overseas, has observed that its “How to Move Out of the U.S.”

information page has seen an increase in traffic of 945% when comparing from May to early August 2019 with the same period this year, prompting its recommendations.
